2019 Dodge Charger
2019 Dodge Charger
The 2019 Dodge Charger has arrived, and it’s glorious. Its five different trims each tell a different story, each with ample power, aggressive styling, and modern muscle. There’s really nothing quite like the Charger, so now it’s just a matter of choosing which trim is right for you. We’re here to help you make that decision, by breaking down each trim and some of each trim’s unique features.
GT & R/T
The GT trim comes in with 300 hp, form it’s 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. The looks are much more aggressive on this trim, with a performance hood that not only looks the part, but walks it. The hood helps redirect heat and keep the 3.6L cool, while you turn up the heat and pick up speed. The 20-inch wheels give more coverage and work in tandem with the performance suspension on the GT. The bumpers have performance fascias and there is a rear body-color 1-piece spoiler that not only dress up the Charger, but show the performance available to the driver. The LED running lamps are great at making sure other drivers see you, but the GT comes with other standard safety features. ParkSense Rear Park-Assist System, ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera, Three-Mode Electronic Stability Control, and Advanced Multistage Front Airbags are just some of the ways Dodge make sure Charger drivers are safe on the road. On the inside, an 8.4-inch touchscreen Display is your media hub, from which you can control your smartphone, via Apple CarPlay or Google Android Auto. The cloth performance seats keep you in place, but if you’re looking for more, there is an alcantara option. Step up to the R/T and not only inherit the GT’s features, but also start experiencing some truly mind-blowing performance. At the heart of the R/T is a 5.7L HEMI V8, which produces an impressive 370 hp. Keyless entry and remote start come on each trim, but the electronically controlled active exhaust is only standard on the R/T.
Upon a first look, it’s difficult not to notice the Performance Grille with Dual Air Inlets. The reason is that the massive 6.4L HEMI V8 is working hard to produce 485-hp. 485! With that much power under the hood, you need more stopping power, and Dodge has provided that, with a BREMBO four-piston brake system. The electronically controlled active exhaust give the SCAT PACK the perfect sound, letting you hear the power. SRT Performance Pages, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, inherited safety and convenience features from other trims, and cloth performance seats with the bee logo really make the SCAT PACK stand out.
For an out-of-this world experience, there’s the SRT HELLCAT. A Brembo 6-piston High-Performance Brake System takes care of the stopping, and a 707-hp supercharged 6.2L HEMI SRT Hellcat V8 take care of the going; and going you will be with power like that. Not only has Dodge included a beast of an engine, they’ve also provided a 204 MPH Top Speed, obviously not for public roads, but it’s there. There are also SRT Drive Modes and Performance Pages. Hellcat Logo Laguna Leather Seats are standard, in either black or black / sepia, with an optional black / demonic red. The 20 x 9.5-inch SRT Performance Wheels are absolutely perfect, and not only add an edge of performance over other models, but also exhibit the epitome of this modern muscle car: stylish, functional, and beautifully designed.
